(8 tips) How to choose your paint

Hey friend,

Whether you’re going through a remodel, you’re bored of your design, or are always looking for ways to improve your home,

Trust me, this quick email is worth your time.

(It’s only 2.47 minutes long)

And that’s because I’m about to give you 8 tips on… PAINT.

But no, not just any paint…

I’m talking about how to pick the perfect paint that matches every room’s vibe and furniture.

Let’s gooo!

1. Check Your Closet

Start with your wardrobe. The colors you love to wear are usually the colors you’ll love to live with. See what shades dominate your clothes—it’s a great clue about what colors will make you feel at home.

2. Set the Mood

Think about how you want to feel in the room. Looking for a calming retreat? Soft blues and greens are soothing. Need a pick-me-up in the kitchen? Bright yellows can add a burst of sunshine.

3. Wall Tests

Slap some sample colors right on your walls. Colors can change drastically under different lighting conditions, so see how they look throughout the day before making your decision.

4. Light It Right

Speaking of light, it plays a huge role in how colors look in your space. Natural light shows the truest color, while incandescent lighting can warm things up a bit.

5. Color Psychology

Dive into what your chosen colors mean. Blues are serene and steady, reds are vibrant and full of energy—pick a color that matches the vibe you’re going for.

6. Consider the Space

Use light colors to make smaller rooms feel bigger and airier, or go with darker shades for a cozier, more intimate feel in larger rooms.

7. Match Your Furniture

Take a look around at your existing decor. Choose a paint color that harmonizes with your furniture and decorations for a cohesive look.

8. Find Inspiration

Flip through decor magazines, scroll through interior design sites, or check out Pinterest. There’s a world of ideas out there to inspire your color choice.

Personally, I think the first tip is one of the most effective and easy to apply…

But unfortunately, it’s often also the most overlooked.

So friend, if you’re doing a remodel, or you’re simply tired of your current paint, I hope this email helped!

And if you did, please let me know in the pool below.
