Rustic Pallet Shelves (DIY guide)

The best way to start your 2024 with a rustic touch!

We’re now in 2024 friend,

And I don’t know about you, but one of my goals this year is to give my home that modern farmhouse flair!

So let me share with you a DIY rustic project you can start working on as quickly as you finish reading this email.

DIY Pallet Shelves

This is one of my favorite projects…why?

Because you only need a few materials and tools,

And it only takes 15 minutes to do!

So why don’t we get started?

Materials Needed

#1 - Wooden Pallets: 2-3, depending on how many shelves you want (you can often find these for free or at a low cost).

#2 - Brackets: To securely mount the shelves on the wall.

#3 - Wood Screws: For attaching the pallets to the brackets and securing parts of the shelves.

#4 - Sandpaper: Medium grit, to smooth any rough edges and surfaces.

#5 - Wood Stain or Paint: Choose a color or stain that suits your room's aesthetic.

#6 - Drill and Drill Bits: Essential for assembling and mounting the shelves.

#7 - Saw: In case you need to cut the pallets to your desired size.

#8 - Measuring Tape and Pencil: For accurate measurements and markings.

#9 - Safety Equipment: Don't forget gloves, goggles, and masks for protection.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step #1 - Prepare the Pallets: Clean and cut the pallets to your preferred size. Sand them down for a smooth, splinter-free finish.

Step #2 - Design Your Layout: Decide how many shelves you want and their placement. You can keep them horizontal or get creative with different angles.

Step #3 - Attach Brackets: Mount the brackets to the wall where you'll place the shelves. Ensure they are level and firmly secured.

Step #4 - Set Up the Shelves: Place the prepared pallets on the brackets and screw them in place.

Step #5 - Stain or Paint: Apply your chosen finish to the shelves and let it dry completely
